In 2020 we are celebrating the year of Coasts and Waters!
Scotland will be marking this period with a year-long programme of events and activities which will shine a spotlight on these vital elements of our landscape. From our beautiful natural features including coasts, lochs and rivers to our industrial heritage such as our canals, mills and the fishing industry, Scotland’s Coasts and Waters have shaped our culture, our stories and our way of life.
The year will celebrate all aspects of our visitor experience in relation to Coasts and Waters, with a focus on unique, authentic experiences and sustainable tourism.
The visitor opportunity in terms of experiences and events will be broadly presented across four cross cutting strands. Read below for a short introduction of the themes.
Check out what events are going on this year celebrating coasts and waters in your area.
