'If we have a more fun night at the pictures we'll be surprised.' - The Skinny
The combination of silent film with live music is a thrilling cinema experience like no other! Our 2023 festival programme features a mix of comedy, drama, magic and mishaps, with cutting-edge musical accompaniment from international performers using a variety of styles.
HippFest has loads going on online too, including a monthly silent film podcast, online talks and events, lively film community on social media, and regular writing published via the Festival blog.
